Over the past decade the United States Military Traffic Management Command has been working with the household goods moving industry to design a more efficient way to handle the movement of its military personnel. Otherwise known as the Families First Program domestic and international transit insurance changes occurred in October of 2007 and domestic and international storage insurance changes occurred on March 1, 2008. Traditionally, due the complexity of these moves, specific freight forwarding operations who manage the move through the entire process have been serving this industry niche.

Mover’s Choice is excited to announce a new international and domestic cargo program that will provide these freight forwarders the required coverage needed to participate in the Families First Program. This program is underwritten by AIG Global Marine and provides the ability to have a monthly reporting or annual premium policy. The program is also designed for Moving and Storage operations that require international coverage. Currently the Mover’s Choice program underwrites domestic cargo for moving companies under our already existing program with AIG Programs, this new addition allows us to underwrite international exposures for moving and storage operations and domestic and international cargo for forwarders.
